Sponosred Post: NDP PREVIEW

As mentioned in my previous ME3 blog post, I had the privilege to catch this year's NDP Preview all Thanks to Churpchurp & Nuffnang! Spent my Saturday celebrating with the other bloggers!

Meeting time was at 4pm, but I was late and arrived around 4.40pm, lol. Roadblock everywhere and it was really crazy because of the crowd. So tiny and I get blocked by people too lol. The weather was insanely humid as well and I thank god my platform heels didn't hurt or else I might just die on the spot. Hahahaha.

I guessed the best part is that Media people got a table seating... hehehehe!

The show commenced with Kallang Wave! Everyone was so enthusiastic!

The Parade and Ceremony began! The Contingents on parade represented the five pillars of Total Defence.

A total of 16 National Flags was unfurled and raised above the spectator stands when the National Anthem is played.

And we had the SAF, SPF, SCDF personnel marching in before the National Anthem.

Each sector was given a big Singapore Flag for the National Anthem before the first Act of the show.

Invested in a new selfie cam and have never regret any bit! I don't even need to photoshop that much because the camera itself comes with beauty filter lololol.

ACT 1: BADANG AND THE SINGAPORE STONE
This year, we celebrated the rich heritage by featuring the Badang and the Singapore Stone. It was a very entertaining show because the lesser-known legend of the Badang is a theatrical representation of the strength, agility, and resilience of the Nation.

Decked out in dramatically designed costumes and props, the members from Martial House, Dance Inspiration, Singapore Silat Federation and the Singapore Armed Forces, who represent the warriors, challenge Badang to a fight.

ACT 2: OUR FOUR CIVILISATIONS
In Singapore, our strength is in our diversity of our race and culture. Remember this phrase? "Regardless of Race, Language or Religion"

The act commenced with a performance by the People's Association and the play of songs in our four official languages. The performers were dressed in traditional costumes and each formation represents one of the four civilisations, namely the Chinese, Malay, Indian and Western Civilisations.

ACT 3: DARE TO DREAM
"Singapore is like a unicorn. One of a kind, a special animal, no other in the world. It works well, has unique solutions." - Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong

Act 3 featured a beautiful aerial and automated unicorn against a sea of rainbow-colored lights produced by the audience's LED Wristbands (That was one of the coolest things I've seen so far) and it symbolises the hopes and dreams of our younger generation.

ACT 4: INGENUITY
Act 4 was performed by 600 students and supported by dancers and MDC aerialists who clad in LED costumes. The energetic dance choreography is complemented by pulsating music and light displays. It presented a mass vibrant and aerial display of performances with LED costumes, hand props, ninebot machines with a formation that signifies the blueprint of tomorrow.

ACT 5: BUILDING OUR SINGAPORE OF TOMORROW

In Act 5, we caught a glimpse of our city in the future, it featured a display of large Sky City prop, made up of multiple iconic buildings which were made up to 6 stories tall!

ACT 6: OUR HOME, OUR PEOPLE
In Act 6, it highlighted the importance of an inclusive and caring Singapore. For the first time in NDP's history, the show featured a song signing segment. It involved over 150 special needs participants from seven Voluntary Welfare Organisation signing to a song performance of Home and Count on me.

Lastly, the NDP Preview ended with all the participants coming together on stage to recite the pledge and sing the national anthem!

Really had an enjoyable time singing out loud with the other audiences and bloggers on last Saturday, I was very sure you could see how crazy I was on Snapchat! Although I felt that this year NDP show seemed to be a little shorter, but what really mattered was we get to celebrate as one Nation and not to forget our Founding Father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew who left a monumental legacy. There’s so much to learn from him, a very humble man and a great leader that deserves the utmost respect from all of us.

Ending this post with a picture of myself (super enthu mood) that was caught randomly by a media photographer.... And strangely garnered over 300 likes for this unglamorous pic on Facebook repost. Lol

Hope you enjoy reading this post and..... HAPPY 51TH BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!
